The Israeli Association for CMV Pregnancies was founded in 2018 by Michal Mamlok-Cohen, Vered Wertheim and Ann Rettig, three mothers who went through their own private journeys with CMV during pregnancy.
The association was founded with the objective of changing the reality of women and couples experiencing a CMV pregnancy in the State of Israel, in light of the misinformation on the subject, expressed in information provided online and sometimes even in the healthcare setting, with regards to CMV virus infection during pregnancy.
Inbal Joined the Association’s board in 2020, replacing Michal and Ann.
We began our activity in 2010 with the founding of the “CMV pregnancy forum” on Tapuz website, with the objective of imparting information, refer to expert doctors on the subject, and provide emotional support for women and families who are experiencing a pregnancy infected with the CMV virus.
In 2016, the Facebook group, “The CMV Pregnancy Association – Guidance and Support”, was opened, and later, more designated groups were opened in order to make the information accessible to a wider population:
Parents of Symptomatic CMV Children,
The Israeli Association of CMV Pregnancy Hosts
The Israeli CMV Pregnancy Website – The Public Group.
The groups include women and their families, who experienced and are experiencing CMV pregnancies, and they are a place where one can ask questions, share emotions and receive answers and a warm embrace from the experience of others who have experienced a CMV pregnancy.
This website was built and is operated on an entirely voluntary basis, with the aim of concentrating all the information one needs during a CMV pregnancy, in order to facilitate coping, especially in light of the fact that most of the information available online, even the so-called official information, is not up-to-date nor accurate, and is sometimes misleading and scary.
The information on this website is comprehensive, reliable and up-to-date, backed by research, proofread and reviewed by leading infectious diseases specialists who are experts on CMV, in order to bring to you most of the information that you may need in such a pregnancy, hoping you complete it with full and healthy hands.
